Artist statement: white oak series

Central Virginia Watercolor Guild

Annual Juried Show,

McGuffey Art Center, Charlottesville

Sept. 6-28, 2014

As an artist, I have always been inspired and motivated by the power, grandeur, simplicity, complexity and changeability of nature.  My artistic vision lies in merging the real visible world of nature with my invisible inner world of feelings and emotions.  This intent is reflected in my recent artwork, the WHITE OAK series.  Shapes, colors and patterns portray the seasonal changes and events that affect the energy of this majestic white oak tree.
